Sept 19th we started with a new song for most of us, Touch The Sky (Hillsong). Singing "I found my life when I laid it down", we followed up with Take My Life (Norton Hall Band). Marjorie played the offertory and Dan lead in congregational prayer. Just before the message we worshipped to All The Poor and Powerless (Heartsong). The message (below) was followed with Holy Holy Holy (Hillsong).
Sept 12th we kicked off a new ministry season with And Can It Be (Wendell Kimbrough) followed by Build My Life (Pat Barett). Majorie played a beautiful offertory and Jeff led us in congregational prayer. Following, we worshipped to Survivor (Zach Williams) before the message (below). Our closing song was Alive (Big Daddy Weave), after which we blessed the community of Essex with a wonderful pulled-pork and hot dog BBQ.
Sept 5th we opened with the beloved melody of Greater Grace (Norton Hall Band) followed by The Goodness of God (Jenn Johnson). Offertory was by Marjorie and Jeff led in congregational prayer after a short video prayer for all the kids returning to school. Just before the message we worshipped to Is He Worthy (Chris Tomlin). The message, which deals with the question, "Why are we blessed?" is below. We closed with The King In All His Beauty (The Glorious Christ Live) followed by communion.
Aug 29 we opened with O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing (Norton Hall Band) and Agnus Dei/King of Kings (At The Grove). Offertory was by Marjorie and Jeff led in congregational prayer. We worshipped to Be Still My Soul (Brian Doerksen) just before the message (below) and closed with There Is A King (Elevation Worship).
Aug 22 we opened with Great Are You Lord (All Sons & Daughters) and I Will Wait For You (Shane & Shane). Marjorie played a wonderful offertory and Dan led us in congregational prayer. Then we worshipped to Heart of Worship (Matt Redman). The exhortation from the Lord was from Psalm 27 (below). We closed with One Thing (Shane & Shane).
Aug 1st we opened with Be Thou My Vision (Celtic Worship) and Oceans (Hillsong United). Marjorie played an offertory and Dan led us in prayer. Then we worshipped to Temptation (The Olney Hymns). The message (below) was followed with communion and our closing hymn, Refiner’s Fire (Brian Doerksen & The Worship Project).
July 25th we opened with Holy Water (We The Kingdom) followed by Amazing Love (Guy Penrod). Judy played an offertory and Dan led congregational prayer, followed by O God Forgive Us (For King & Country). The message (below) was immediately followed with a new video of Forgiveness (Matthew West) that used the sermon slides as backdrops to the lyrics.
July 18th we opened with Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Austin Stone Worship) and Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer (Charlotte Church). Judy played It Is Well With My Soul as an offertory. After Dan prayed we sang O Worship The King (Wendell Kimbrough). The message is below. We concluded with What A Friend We Have in Jesus (Norton Hall Worship) and our semi-annual business meeting.
July 11th we celebrated our King with Build Your Kingdom Here (Rend Collective) and Before The Throne of God Above (Selah). After congregational prayer we kept our focus on God through A Mighty Fortress (Heartsong). Following the message (below), we worshipped to King of Kings (Chandler Moore) and celebrated communion.
July 4th we had our outdoor service. Richard led us in worship with his guitar, Judy played a wonderful offertory on the keyboard and Dan led in congregational prayer. The message is below.
June 27th we opened with Praise to the Lord (Norton Hall Band) followed by the toe-tapping southern gospel worship song, Sweet By and By (Ben Hester). After congregational prayer we worshipped to the powerful There Is A King (Elevation Worship). The message is below. We closed with Revelation Song (Guy Penrod).
For Father's Day we opened with a short video thanking our dads. After opening prayer we sang Crown Him (Norton Hall Band) and This Is My Father's World (Tommy Walker). After congregational prayer, Judy played Great Is Thy Faithfulness as an offertory. Then we sang Our Father (Don Moen). The message itself is below. Following the message we worshipped to Good Good Father (Casting Crowns version).
June 13th we opened with hymn 569 in our Hymnal, Jesus Blessed Jesus, followed by I Speak Jesus (Kingsporch). After congregational prayer, Judy played Sweet Hour of Prayer as an offertory. Then we sang Be Thou My Vision (Norton Hall Band). The message itself is below. Following the message we worshipped as 10 year old Jackie Evancho sang the Lord's Prayer.
June 6th, we opened with a call to worship from Ps 121 followed by two worship songs, What A Beautiful Name (Hillsong) and Tis So Sweet (Norton Hall Band). After prayer we sang I Will Follow (Vertical Worship). The message itself is below. Following the message we sang O Come To The Altar (Hillsong). Communion was followed with a corporate reading of the Lord's Prayer.
May 30 we opened with an old hymn done a new way, I Stand Amazed (Norton Hall Band) and Yet Not I But Christ In Me (City Alight). After prayer we sang King of Kings (Saddleback Worship) and watched a short but impactful video. After the message (below) we closed with Freely Freely (The NCrew).
For the Victoria Day weekend we opened with two powerful worship songs, Cornerstone (Hillsong) and Come Thou Fount (Shane & Shane). After prayer we sang People Need the Lord (Steve Green). After the message we sang Take My Life by Norton Hall Band.
On May 16th we opened with I Speak Jesus by Kingsporch followed by Child of the King (Gaither Band) and Good, Good Father (Casting Crowns version). After the message (Jesus the Son) we sang Who You Say I Am by Hillsong.
For Mother's Day, May 9th, we opened with a skit from Skit Guys, followed by the Mother's Day prayer posted to our FB page. We sang Goodness of God by Jenn Johnson, Here I Am To Worship by Maranatha Music, and lead into the message with I Surrender. After the message we worshipped to Holy Spirit by Kari Jobe.
For May 2nd, as opened we worshipped to "This is Amazing Grace" by Phil Wickham, followed by the musical testimony of Big Daddy Weave in "Alive", followed by the emotional rendering of "Tis So Sweet to Trust In Jesus" by Kari Jobe. The message began with Shane Taylor's testimony from Alpha.
